College Test Prep Course Program Overview
The College Test Prep Class was designed by STEAMA in collaboration with The Skills Center, Men of Vision, and the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, to equip students in the Tampa Bay area with the academic skills, test-taking strategies, and confidence needed to excel on college entrance exams (such as the SAT, ACT, and CLT). The course featured interactive instruction, skill-based practice exams, and small group coaching, delivered over a focused 3-hour session each Saturday.
Goals & Objectives
- Improve standardized test scores (SAT, ACT, CLT) through skill-building.
- Increase college and scholarship eligibility.
- Build test-taking confidence and reduce anxiety.
- Expose students to study strategies and time management.
- Connect students to college and career planning resources.

Student are welcome to attend all sessions. We will send out an RSVP on the Wednesday before each session. Sessions are capped at 28 students.
To Be Set-Up for Success, student will need
- A Gmail account and password to ensure access to materials via Google Classroom
- Laptop & Charger (please let us know if you are in need of assistance)
- Calculator that is specific to the test
- Snacks will be provided. If you have any food allergies or limitation, please feel free to bring your own snacks.
